We have created this timeline so that you will know what to expect and when to expect it when applying to Ojai Valley School. We realize that sometimes there may be mitigating circumstances that may affect your ability to stay within this schedule so we try to offer a degree of flexibility with those dates within our control.

  • August

Request OVS application and register for required tests. OVS requires all high school applicants to take the SSAT, although other nationally normed and standardized tests will be considered for applicants to the elementary to middle school grades. All international students are required to take the TOEFL or SLEP test.

  • September though January

Begin the admission process by submitting your completed application and supporting documents. The request form for transcripts should be given to your school and the confidential recommendations should be given to your English, math and science or history teachers to complete and return to OVS. Contact our Admission Office to schedule a tour and interview. Ideally every candidate with his or her parents or guardian should visit the campus for a tour and interview. If this is not possible, the Admission Office may arrange for a telephone interview.

  • February

The OVS Admission Committee begins the review process of all completed files for the first-round of decisions.

  • March

The first-round of admission decisions are mailed on March 10. The deadline for accepted applicants to respond is April 10.

  • April

The second-round of admission decisions are mailed on April 10.

  • Late Applications

It is not uncommon for a very limited number of spaces to be available after the April 10 deadline. Please be aware that these spaces fill quickly and late applicants must submit all the above out-lined materials in a shortened time frame.
