Monte Vista Christian has built a tradition of excellence since its founding in 1926 as a coeducational college preparatory day and boarding school, grades 6-12, with a commitment to the moral and spiritual development of our students.
The school’s country setting of 100 acres of fields, rolling lawns, ponds and enormous redwoods provides a wonderful and safe community in which to live and learn. The campus buildings are a blend of early California mission-style and traditional influences. Our location in a sunny valley of the Monterey Bay area provides a most desirable climatic setting. The nearby Pacific Ocean with beaches and dunes provides another accessible environment for study and enjoyment.

Admittance is based on past academic and social performance, the previous two years’ grades, standardized test scores, recommendations, and an interview.
High School
Beginning with the fall of a student’s eighth-grade year, students and their families are invited to visit us for a tour and to receive an application form.
