KIPP Bridge College Prep is a public middle school in West Oakland that is changing children’s lives. It enrolls students regardless of their past record, and is setting them on a path to high school and college success. KIPP Bridge is the highest performing Title I middle school in the Oakland Unified School District and the second highest performing middle school overall.
The mission of KIPP Bridge College Prep is to develop the academic knowledge, skills, and character traits necessary for students to achieve success in the finest high schools and colleges, and the competitive world beyond. Strengthened by these skills, habits, and qualities, the students of KIPP Bridge College Prep will prioritize the goal of a college education in achieving personal success.

KIPP Bridge College Prep is currently enrolling students. Any student entering the 5th grade in the 2007-2008 school year is eligible to attend. As a public school, KBCP is tuition-free and open to all residents of Oakland. There is no admissions test.
To be enrolled, contact Principal David Ling immediately to set up a family meeting. The Principal or Vice Principal and family will then talk about the commitment necessary for each family and student to make to assure success at KBCP, as our students work very hard. For example, KBCP students attend classes from 7:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m. daily, as well as a Saturday enrichment program and a three-week summer program. At the meeting, parents and students review and sign the Commitment to Excellence form outlining the expectations necessary to attend KBCP.
