Children’s Day School is an independent, coeducational day school of 280 students in preschool through eigth grade. Our academic program actively engages children in the process of learning, challenges them intellectually and teaches them to take responsibility for themselves, for others and for the environment around them.

To apply for admission to middle school (grades 5-8), complete the steps outlined below. Admission packets and applications are available during tours and Open Houses, and can also be downloaded using the links below.
An applicant’s file must be complete and all forms received by Friday, January 11, 2008 in order for the student to be considered in the first round of decisions mailed on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Late applicants will be considered for any remaining openings after March 20, 2008 as their files are completed.
Grades 5-8 Admission Procedure
- Schedule school visit.
- Return completed application and parent/guardian statement, including $75.00 application fee.
- Submit teacher recommendation form to two of your child’s teachers after December 1; teachers need to return completed forms directly to CDS.
- Submit school records form to Registrar at child’s current school after December 1; Registrar needs to send records directly to CDS.
- Arrange student visit and parent conversation (scheduled by Admission Office). After your application is complete, the Admission Office will schedule a full-day visit for your child as well as a 30 minute parent conversation with a member of the admission team.
